- Let me do it - said Nick, as he started to jump on the drain repeatedly. After a while he was breathing heavy and quite tired - ok, cut it open, this time there is nothing I can do, pals.
Henry took the scissors and began to cut the drain's cover.
All the children stared at the bottom of the will, looking how the bright things started to climb. And, all of a sudden, the sky got dark as a night without the moon, and the only light became from the little things that, like small stars or glow worms, became dancing around the kids. They seemed fairies or flying sparks dancins and running in the sky, playing hide-and-seek
And, in the middle of these weird dancing, the Rose shining weakly, levitating as a ghost.
Cool...smiled Esteban looking at the flying sparks, they were kind of a fireworks but in non explosive way..or at last for now, in any case the presence of the rose did call back his attention to what it was in front of him.
Ey, isnt that? call the rest of the children around pointing to the rose and moving cautiously to get the rose, he suspected the fairies, as sparky as they were could be dangerous if he touched, so he moved dodging all the sparks he could to reach the rose.
"Oooooh, it's so beautiful!" exclaimed Abigail, looking at the little glittering sparks. "It's like a fairy tail"
She went near Esteban, staring at the rose which was floating in the air as a bird.
The children looked at the rose, delicate and light flying in the air. The sky was dark, however the small lights lit the yard as candles.
The rose floated in the middle of the light's dancing, but it was too up to take it.
Ahhmmm come on..dont be like that streched his arm Esteban trying to take the rose with no sucess as the rose was to high in the "sky" he couldnt reach it, and it was so close...oh come on mussed Esteban sighing and looking to his companions.
So..anyone with a ladder or something? smiled the boy scratching the back of his head
- Ha! ha!- laughted Nick at Esteban when he tried to catch the rose by standing on his toes. Then he remembered something - wait! aren't we suppposed to have something to keep the rose in? - he though aloud- who is carrying it? - he said, looking at the other kids in an accusatory way - it was you Bruce, wasn't it?
Bruce looked at Nick and exclaim:
"What?... Oh, yes, the container!"
He looked for it in his bag and took it out. He tried to open it up, but it was hard to do. Although, he was able to open it and, as soon as he did it, the little spark began to dance and dance in circles around the rose, which started to go down.
The flower shone, fragil and weak as a phantom. It looked like a diamond sculpture made by angels. It came down and went to the container Burce was holding, terrified and excited at the same time.
The stones from the wall began to move, quickly but in orden, making a great arch, a gate full of light where the princess' cat was waiting whyle it was licking it spaws.
Ooohhhhh couldnt but whisper Estaban by the image of the rose entering in the container, it has been very beautiful, so much was true, not too soon after the rose has found his place a stone wall start to move into a big arch on where the familiar visage of the cat appeared just staring at them with his feline visage...
So..shall we? asked Esteban pointing to the arch where the cat was waiting they even give us an escort or something pointed to the cat amused wallking to the door looking at the rose inside the container, it was quite beautiful.
- Come on lazy ones! Let's go back home! - said Nick walking towards the arch - and Bruce, you'd better not forget the rose - menaced Nick although this time he forgot to wave his little punch in front of his face.
"Oooh! It's imazing!" Said Abigail. And it was true: the rose, as a jewel, it was now in the container, on Bruce's hands. And, as if that weren't enough, the wall started to move and made an arch.
"Yes, let's go. It's the princess' cat so it'd be safe."
And suddently, you wake up. You're laying on your bed, staring at the ceiling.
"Was it a dream?" you think. No, it can't be a dream. The Princess, the weird rooms, the Shadows, the bearded wizard with that extrange name, the Waterfalls City, the other children,... It haven't to be an illusion, a dream. It must be real.
You get up and look around. Everything seems common, so common: the wall, the roofs beyond the window glass, the old oak in the back yard, your toys box, the posters,... You move closer to the window and look throught it. You see the dark branches and the lamposts shining at the moonlight, glittering as polish silver, but nothing has changed.
You sigh and go back to your bed when, near the door, you see something. You won't be able to say if it was real or only a trick of your mind, if it was a simple shadow or a cat going out your bedroom.
