Smith heard the noise behind them and he knew that everything was about to end. As soon as the guard breached into the pyramyd all bets would be off. He knew that, He was been in that kind of situations some many times to distinguish between a bad situation and the certainty of death.

He shouted to the civilians "Take cover. They're coming. Open fire as they get in, no mercy, no hesitation... It's your life of theirs"

Hal looked with concern the breaking door. He would try to do his best to hold the guards and give time to his comrades. Perhaps he could cause the colapse of the corridor with a grenade. Anyway an explosion at the entrance could left several of the guard out of play.

He took the ring of the three grenades that he bring at his belt al throw them at the door just before the guardians broke it.

Then turned and ran as fast as he could to a safe position before the explosion.

The guards were shooting at the door with their energy spears when the grenades impacted at the door. Unfortunately, the kind of grenades he was using weren't the kind that he was used to. Instead of the contact grenades, which explode on contact, he threw time-based ones, as a consequence the grenades rebounded at the door back to him exploding fiercely and knocking him out.

The last vision he had before falling unconscious was the face of a beetle, which was laughing and pointing his weapon at him. Then, everything went black.

A big explosion could be heard at the door. After some seconds of anxiety it was so clear that Jenkins wouldn't come.

Sam looked at the door pointing his weapon at the entrance with a fierce gaze, prepared to open fire as soon as a beetle shows his face. Unfortunately, you could hear behind you, coming from the gate behind the throne, a loud voice of a man speaking in English with a strong french accent

"Drop your weapons. You're surrounded. Drop your weapons or you will be dead in a blink of an eye...You" he said staring at Sam "and all your friends"

The explosion startled Mallory, and left her speechless. Jenkins..., she thought and gasped.

Then the door behind the throne opened, and a dark-skinned man spoke with a noticeable French accent. She was not a military expert, but she had a feeling they were outnumbered and outgunned. Maybe it was better to try to gain some time.

-Best to do what he says, Mallory said and carefully put her weapon on the floor.

Sam raised their weapons showing that he wasn't going to open fire and put tdfdfgdfghem on the ground. He was smiling without showing any hesitation at all, as if being disarmed by an alien force was routine. He Kicked their weapons to the one who was in command and said his civilians mates

"Drop your weapons. If they would have wanted to kill us we would be dead. We and Latimer and Davis. Surrender. That's an order Keiran"

Then she looked at the little girl with a strange grim "I'm sorry little girl, we have failed... If your people want to be free they will have to fight for their freedom"

A group of beetle guards dragged Jenkin's body into the room. He was injured and inconscious but still breathing. He was left next to Davis who barely looked at him.

The captain of the guard began to shout orders and all the weapons on the ground where picked up

"Jaffa Kree, Telmac Khepri. Kneel in front of your God, Kneel in front of Khepri"

Just ten Jaffa stood pointing at you with their weapons while all the rest kneeled and forced you to kneel before the entrance in the throne room.

The man who entered was quite short for being a God, slightly fat and middle-aged, and he was wearing an old-fashioned red suit instead of a golden armor but the most surprising thing was that you had seen before. In fact, every kid in your planet had seen before, but it was so amazing that he was there instead of dead. In front of you, you could see one of the greatest military brains in the history, the man who invaded half of Europe, Napoleon Bonaparte.

No. No. No no no no no no no. Impossible. Nonsense. Ridiculous. Absurd. Where's the camera? If those ten guys where not pointing at us with their killing sticks, I would laugh out loud.

I needed to breath deeply to be able to asume all that. It couldn't simply be happening. Napoleon Bonaparte, there, standing in front of us. And he was some kind of god? Maybe Alexander the Great was his cousin from outer space? There was no way I could believe what I had in front of me. Where my own eyes lying? No, after all I had seen. Same old, same old.

I went to my knees, as they commanded. Not sure how to speak, or what to say. I decided it was wise to just stay quiet until they asked something.

Jenkins' eyes began to open from his state of unconsciousness to a world which has turned crazy. He barely remembered how he arrived where he was but he could recognize perfectly Davis and Lattimer's faces and then everything came from the blue of his mind. Throwing the grenades, the blast and the laugh of that guard who smelled like a skunk.

He touched himself looking for something broken or out of place but, if you didn't take into account the pain, the high-frequency pitch in his ears and the fact that seeing Napoleon was a proof of insanity everything seemed to work nicely.

Sam looked at the supposed God and said in a low voice

"Holy crap. He is rather short and old to be a God"

The job wasn't received as he expected and the hit of a spear in his back could be heard in the throne room while the God raised his hand ordering to stop immediately.

Napoleon freaking Bonaparte...

Mallory tried to keep calm, but this was beyond unbelievable. Dozens of wild ideas and crazy theories raged through her brain, and she was struggling to even breathe.

Slowly, she knelt and bent her head. It was important to gain some time. Damn, we need a plan.

Then she saw Jenkins. At least he was alive. -He needs medical attention, Dr. Davis muttered.

Cozzette flew from the room provoking the guards' laughs. She was so insignificant to care about

He walked towards Smith and looked at the flag in his uniform nodding to an unanswered question. He walked in circles studying these people who had come from the blue, carefully, as they have done 200 years ago in the battlefields of Europe. When he was satisfied he began to talk with a strong French accent

" Mes amis, c'est moi. You can talk in English and that flag is similar to the flag of the United States but with more stars, are you Tau`ries? are you from America?. I'm so sorry for the shape of your friends, but my guards don't get on well with people who kill their brothers...." He walked through them before ending his speech "If I remember right, I should hang you and treat you as spies and criminals, but a long time has passed since I have seen my planet, so, tell me, is France ruling the world?"

As soon as Mallory spoke one guard pointed his weapon at her but a quick gesture of Khepri's hand allowing her to take care of Jenkins relaxed his behavior.

-France... Is doing OK I guess, Mallory replied. She tried to focus on Jenkins´ injuries. -But not really "ruling the world" to be honest.
