Candle Light Booksellers is the home of the Murder Mavens. It has managed to outlast the few major chains that had opened in Brindlewood Bay, that have since closed. 

The store has an eclectic stock policy. The vast majority of it consists of 'beach reading', especially the outdoor 'Used' book section during the summer. Beyond that though, it seems to specialize in two genres; Romance and Mystery. 

This has created two very different book clubs that use the upstairs area for meetings. The Silhouette Swap who gets together on Tuesday night to talk about trashy cheap romance novels and trade them with each other. The Murder Mavens meet on Thursday night to talk about mystery novels, especially the Golden Crown Mystery series. The two book clubs have a chilly relationship, except when it comes to BBCWR. The Brindlewood Bay Civil War Re-enactors meet on 15th of each month, no matter whose night it is. 

Both of the book clubs think that the BBCWR is a bit ridiculous, since there were no Civil War battles that happened in Brindlewood Bay, and it's ranks are filled with self important men who yell at each other about button minutiae.
