I slowly studied the symbols, trying to figure out their meaning.

- The final symbol refers Ra, the main God from Egyptian pantheon, the third symbol talks about maat the justice god.

- The beetle symbols talks about the daily cycle. 

- It's the symbol of the god Khpri, Kheper and in English Khepri. 

- It's one of the facet of Ra: Khepri in the morning, Ra-atum at noon and Ra horajti in the evening

-According to the mythology every day Khepri drags the sun in the sky as the beetle drags its shit ball

YOu don't know why do yo have that tattoo... or why it's a khepri one and it's not of other god

Khepri is the facet of Ra in the morning so it could be possible that Khepri is Ra's son

It could be connected to the SGC attack. According to the report the attackers were wearing snake armors that could be a representation of Anubis.

Sergeant Smith run into the forest thinking he saw a flashing.

Wait Sergeant. It was only one click. This means that all is going fine. Stay at the camp and wait orders.

I tried to stop Smith to run crazily into the forest. I didn't know what Sam could see but it was he flashing from a lantern.

Lieutenant Jenkins asked Sergeant Smith to stay in the camp protecting the civilians while Sergeant Smith believed that Major Davis and Captain Latimar where at risk.

What are you going to do? Jenkins has asked, but not ordered, to stay. Smith has seen, or he believes so, other kind of light... it you leave you will leave alone both civilians.

Keiran and Mallory are in their tents and they sky it's getting dark with some threating clouds.

Don't worry Lieutenant. I'm going to try to be close enough to communicate them. When I'll hear their voice saying that it's all ok, I'll come back. Stay at the camp watching the Civilians.

I keep going to the flash and trying to communicate with the Mayor and Latimer.

I'll just keep waiting in my tent, studying the info I brought in my pad, until there are any news.

Sergeant Smith crossed the boundary of the jamming field and tried to communicate with Major Davis or Captain Latimer. But no one copied his messages. He could try to climb the quarry to check what had happened or he could inform Lieutenant Jenkins about what would be their next move.

Mallory was working hard with the skin samples of Keyran for 20 minutes when something really strange happened. The bright golden color of the skin changed to orange, then pale brown vanishing at the end. 

She put another sample under a microscope and a shout could be heard across the camp "Unbelievable!!, Keiran... Come here... I think that I have your diagnostic"

Desperate for the silent, I continued on my way. Ascending the quarry  searching a higher place to see the rest of the terrain. Concentrating on my breath to not lose the rhythm like I had been taught in the training years. Thanks to this I can carry the heavy weapon that I have and will have enought energy at the top to react to any unforeseen. All this without losing sight of the place where I last saw the flash.
 

When I heard doctor Davis's yell, I couldn't help not running out of my tent and into hers.

- What's up? Am I gonna live? Is it serious?

I realised I was breathing heavily and clenching my fists. And I made a big effort to relax my stance. I cleared my throat and spoke again.

- I mean, what are your findings, Doc?

Sergeant Smith tried to keep his breath but an urgency feeling made him run faster than he pretended. He arrived breathless to the top of the quarry where he found footprints and some bullet shells. There was a smell of gun powder in the air mixed with the aromas of the forests. Sam touched the bullet shells feeling them still warm. According to his experience the bullets were shot 10 minutes ago. 

Sam inspected the surroundings looking for more information. There wasn't any trace of blood and two drag marks were on the ground. The footprints followed their way along the path that drove to the small cabain that Jenkins and Smith had visited before.

Mallory waited patiently the end of Keiran's interrogatory and then took breath and replied

"It's serious, but I think that you are going to be OK. I have used an electronical microscope to analyze your skin samples and I have found something amazing. You can have a look!" She said, really thrilled for her discovery

"This is your skin. Don't worry, you are not going to turn into Hulk. It's a luminiscent bacteria, pretty similar to an Earth one. Those are good news, it's not a virus so I'm quite sure that you're not contagious. You gonna take these two antibiotic pills. They are quite concentered so I hope that you don't have a delicate stomach"

Mallory checked the status of the tattoo and smiled

"It's turning orange. It will turn brown and then it will disappear.. I will need some time to have your blood results but I think that you are going to be fine"

She looked through the microscope like a girl with her new doll

"It's amazing. I don't know why, but you have touched the monolith with your hands and the tattoo is in your nape. That suggest a mechanism to deliver the bacterias in a very controlled way. In fact, they are forming a tattoo.. I wish we had this technology at Earth. Can you imagine medicines that could be deliver where they are needed? No more side effects, chemotherapy that affects only the tumoral cells.... "

She realized that Keiran was in the tent...

"Oh forgive me Keiran, I will have your results in 30 minutes.. you are free to leave your tent if you want, and now... I beg your pardon, a handsome archaelogist is waiting for his result and you're distracting me"

I guess thats have a pretty side of view. If there aren't blood marks it means that whatever who did this don't want our collegues dead... yet. So I have a little hurry. First I try to make signals to Jenkins in order to atrac his attention. Then I try with the walkie communications... and finally I breathe, focus and start my return to the camp.

When I arrive I look for the liutenant to inform him. - Sir! I found something. At the top of the quarry there are signs of fight, the bullet's shells at the ground are still warm, and there are a clear trail to the shelter in the woods. Like if some one dragging something heavy. - I stand firm. - Awaiting your orders, Liutenant.

The news from Sergeant Smith was not what I expected.

Wait there Sergeant. I'm coming to your position. Don't expose yourself and be aware.

I didn't want to leave the scientists alone, but I must support Smith there. If whoever attacked Major David had been able to catch him, better not to front them alone.

Kieran, Mallory, stay here. We could have been in trouble. Call home and tell General Hammond that we've been attacked and we are going to try to rescue Major Davis. Tell them that some help could be useful.

I run towards Smith's position to try to follow the trails to Major David.

Sam sent the flashing light signal indicating problems and tried to communicate with Jenkins with no response. He started his way down of the quarry when he received orders from Jenkins to keep his position while he was climbing the quarry.

5 minutes later, Jenkins arrived showing his amazing fitness. They inspected the ground looking for new evidences that could help them to establish the nature of the attackers or the destination of their comrades

Lieutenant Jenkins recognized the footprints at once. They were identical as the ones that he had found previously in his recognition mission.

It was really tough to figure the nature of the attackers or the amount of them but assuming that they could be bipeds the amount of them shouldn't be greater than 10. The footprints pointed clearly along the path that they have followed to the weird man's cabain.

A violent rain fell over SG21's heads dying the sky of grey and black hues. The night was coming and a hard decision must be taken.

The news are really bad. We do not leave anyone behind, but they clearly outnumber us. I noted to Jenkins and comment: - Sir, I don't like this, but maybe our only hope is going all together. It's dangerous for the civis but we don't know what we are going to find, so it's dangerous for only two of us too. What do you think liutenant?.

I'm waiting the answer of my superior with the hope of going all together or maybe we can call for backup from Earth, while I watching the shelter trying to discover something else that could be usefull to us.

The situation was not good. I must take a decision. Smith was waiting my orders.

I told Mallory and Keyran to call home and ask for reinforcements. I think we two are capable to handle with this, knowing what we can find. I saw similar footprints like these South from campment. I think we can't wait for the reinforcements to come. We must follow the steps before he rain cover them. At least we must know the number of enemies we are facing to. Let's move

I would not leave Major David and Captain Latimer on the alien's hands. I started to follow the steps carefully.
