Rico was the younger of the Romero brothers, and he was responsible for most of the recruiting. In fact, it was Rico who convinced Jose "Alacran" Luciano to join the Romero gang. This decision turned out to be a fatal one, since Alacran worked for the Bronsons. In the ambush at the Old Fort, Rico fought first against Choctaw Lee, and even though he lost at first, he was able to recover and rejoin the fight. Rico wounded Choctaw before he challenged Alacran to a duel. However, the Mexican outlaw cheated and killed Rico with his hidden shotgun.
Salvador was one of the youngest members of the Romero gang. On the fatal night at the Old Fort, Salvador fought Jack Dekker and even though he was hit several times, he almost escaped. But the marksman hunted him down and killed him a few hundred yards from the ruins.
Harvey Stenbaugh was Vincent Bronson´s foreman, his right hand, and more than a brother. Ever since Harvey, Vincent and Jacob Bronson drove away the Sioux Indians to establish the Bronson ranch, no man was closer to Vincent. When a Mexican cattle thief shot Harvey injuring him, Vincent hired professional gun men to finish off the Romero gang. And when the lawman Maddox from Bannock came to town, Stenbaugh who was sent to arrange a meeting. However, his quick temper took the better of him, and he challenged Maddox to a duel. He was killed on November 14th 1886. The consequences of this event were going to be remembered for many years.
One of the craziest and deadliest bandito of Old Mexico. Jose “Alacran” Luciano was responsible for several killings, including that of sheriff of San Acoma. His weapon of choice was a sawed-off shot gun he called “Rosanna”. But he was also more than capable with his Colt Dragoon Revolver.
After escaping from a Cantina in San Acoma, he and Rosanna joined forces with Choctaw Lee and Jack Dekker from Delaware, and the four formed a gang. They were later hired by the cattle baron Vincent Bronson to eliminate an organized band of Mexican cattle thieves. Alacran made contact with the leaders, and apparently joined them. But he was waiting for the right moment. At the Old Fort, Choctaw and Dekker attacked the cattle thieves, and Alacran double crossed the Mexicans. Together, the three killed them all.
Another matter of importance was the arrival of a lawman from Bannock. An unfortunate shooting incident had caused the death of an old man in Bannock, and the lawman named Maddox wanted to arrest a list of Bronson men, including Vincent Bronson, Jack and Choctaw. He was unyielding, and before long it was clear the hired guns were going to be needed again. Choctaw had been injured, so Dekker and Alacran decided to go to Sabbath.
In Sabbath, Alacran discovered that Rosanna was with another man, and without thinking he attacked him in the saloon where a poker tournament was taking place. His name was Mayer, and he was an old pal of Jack and Choctaw. Unfortunately for Alacran, in the same table there was a bounty hunter Trinity W. King (A.K.A. Arch Stanton) who was quick with the gun. Alacran did not kill Mayer with his first shot, and before he could fire again, a bullet went through his head.
Alacran died in the town of Sabbath, fighting for the woman he loved, and firing his shotgun.
May you rest in peace, pinche pendejo
“Choctaw” Lee was the illegitimate son of Tom Lee. He was born into a Chickasaw Indian tribe in Delaware reservation. His mother, Nashoba, was practically seen as a prostitute by the other Indians. As an illegitimate child and half breed, he was rejected by both the Indians and the whites alike. The Lee ranch bécame a safe haven for outlaws, and the hideout for the two Lee brothers Pink and Tom, and also Jim Jr., son of the late James Lee. Young "Choctaw" Lee joined the gang met his estranged father Tom again. Later on, the two Dyer Brothers and others from their gang like Della Humpy and Jack Dekker joined the group of a dozen outlaws.
The Delawere bandits perpetrated a massacre killing U.S. Marshall James Guy and many others. After that, Choctaw Lee was a wanted man. He escaped to San Acoma area with Jack Dekker, and there he joined forces with Jose “Alacran” Luciano and Rosanna. The four were hired by Vincent Bronson to fight off a Mexican cattle rustler uprising. The three prepared an ambush at the Old Fort. Even though it was succesful, Choctaw received a shot to the shoulder, and the wound festered.
Choctaw was injured and weak, but he still rode with the Bronson men to Sabbath to face the lawman Jered Maddox and the other men who had come after him. In the gunfight, he was again shot and this time he did not survive the numerous wounds.
He was buried next to “Alacran” Luciano and Jack Dekker.
